Be sure to pick up the latest issue of Bike Magazine.  The September/October issue is all about east coast riding and page 52 has a nice article on Jay.

8.22-24.08

The Jeep King of the Mountain race was at the Diablo Freeride Park in Vernon, NJ this weekend.  We met so many cool people this weekend and it strengthened our reasoning behind doing what we do - the people and the ride.

Thanks to everyone we saw this weekend - Alexis, Karen, Dave Bert, Chris VD, Galen VD, Hillary, Eric, Drew, Steve, Kathy, Mike, and so many others.  Thanks for hanging out with us.  We had a blast!

A special thanks goes to Larry for the wonderful commentary and mention of our website during the race.

Thanks Larry!

8.16.08

EWR Bikes was at the Iron Hill Challenge (part of the MASS Series) on August 16th.  The new OWB29er's and OWB's were on display.  There were so many people stopping by to take a close look at the new graphics package that Don and Kenn didn't get to ride! We met so many new people, what a great day.  We can't wait to go back and check out the trails!

7.25.08

Kenn was on his way to a demo ride in Pittsburgh and had the chance to stop by Speedgoat (our western PA Dealer).  It was a great opportunity to show off an entire vhicle worth of EWR's.  Although it was a short trip (Jeremy and Chris and the rest of the staff had to get back on the phones) it was a great experience.  "Their shop is loaded with anything you could ever want! And what a great group of guys and dogs...." said Kenn about his stop there.  Jeremy even put up a blog entry about the trip and took a few photos.

7.17.08  thru 7.20.08

Amy did good at Mt. Snow on her new EWR OWB built for Dul Slalom.  She took third in her class.  Not bad for her first year in the sport, huh?  Congratulations Amy!

The staff from EWR Bikes did two group demo rides on Saturday June 28th at the Salisbury trails near Bethlehem, and Sunday the 29th at the Wissahickon.  We be took a medium and a large OWB, and the two of the highly anticipated OWB29ers for rides.  No tent, no swag, just bikes and riders.  We had a great time and got some very positive feedback about the bikes.

Thanks to everyone who came out.  We had a great time riding with everyone, and hope ride with you again soon!

Thanks,

L' Capitan d' Resistance (aka Kenn)

6.22.08

EWR Bikes attended the Neshaminy Classic on Sunday 6.22.08 in scenic Langhorne, PA.  Forget Sesame Place, this is the attraction you want to see in southeast PA!  The weather gods were good to us, and we unveiled our OWB29er Prototype bikes.

6.14.08

Plattekill is a great place to race, especially when you get to the podium.  Jay did an excellent job of proving that the EWR OWB is the job for the task and took third in the Pro Dual Slalom class.

Nice work, Jay!

6.09.08

You saw the pics on the homepage.  They OWB29er frames go to paint this week.  We'll be riding them shortly.  Keep an eye peeled for test ride beta.

5.20.08

A sneak peak at the new graphics.

4.15.08

Here is a preliminary look, folks!  The next generation of EWR Original Woods Bikes evolves atop a 29er wheel platform.  Geometry has been carefully worked out and tubing is being cut.  Stay tuned...

4.12.08 ~ 4.13.08

Group rides!  French Creek on Saturday, Wissahickon on Sunday.  Call or email for more info and meeting place, and to request a demo to ride for the day.

4.02.08

Jay got a call from the Dirt Rag crew and asked him to author a blog.  He was happy to do so.  You can check out his latest ramblings here.

3.30.08

White Clay was sick!!!  We'd like to thank the 15 plus riders that showed up for the ride (and the beer afterward).  I can't remember having that much fun and going that fast for such a long time.  Also, Kenn would like to apologize to Scott from NJ for getting distracted and not finishing the chat with him at the parking lot.  Give him a call Scott so you guys can finish the conversation.

3.29.08

A small group showed up for the ride at Salisbury.  It was a bit chilly and it kept people away, but a good time was had by all.  Hey Brian, hope your stomach is feeling better.  We'll get you out there when you feeling good.

3.23.08

Jay, Kenn and Don got together for a group ride on Easter Sunday 03.23.08, at Salisbury in Bethlehem, PA. Mr. Ed and Matt V. were able to join in on the fun as well.  The weather was a bit chilly but warmed up nicely.  About 500 yards into the ride Don went over the bars.  Ken went over the bars at the same spot 30 seconds later.  It was one of those kinds of rides.......

3.10.08

Lots going on here at EWR Bikes.  We are refining the details for our 29er prototype -- this is a big endeavor for us, trying to mimic the OWB ride on our big wheeler.  We are sweating final details, and you'll see the efforts here soon.  In the meantime, word from our customers is filtering back as they been getting bikes built and riding.  This is really exciting and they are the proud owners of the historic re-launch.  Here is Ed L's impression, build photos to follow:

"I started out slow, but I soon realized that this bike comes alive the faster you go.  I sailed over some large logs with noticeably less effort than I'm used to.  It also has one of the most solid rear ends of any bike I've ever ridden.  Very confidence inspiring.  My whole impetus was to upgrade my old (XXXX) hard tail with a better frame.  It looks like I've created one of my favorite bikes ever.  You guys nailed it!"

2.19.08

Another big day for EWR Bikes.  We finalized our geometry numbers for our 29er prototype frame today.  We'll have the shop drawings up on the website soon and we'll routinely keep you updated with photos throughout development and testing.  Hopefully you'll get to ride the proto for impressions.  Stay tuned for more.

2.05.08

Two big things happened today... T shirts became available (check out the store), but even more importantly we delivered our first frame!  Michael (seen below) ordered a raw frame as he has a special paint job in mind. Most are not aware of this but Michael played a huge part in EWR Bikes coming back. You see, he was the person Kenn sold his OWB to back in 1996.  Kenn got it back recently, the full story is on MTBR, and that spurred Jay and Kenn and Don to talking and bringing EWR Bikes back.

Thanks Michael.  Thank you very much.

2.03.08

We are on schedule folks -- Kenn and I are in possesion of our whole run of production frames, fresh out of finishing and aligning.  We are psyched, and the frames are incredible!  They go to paint tomorrow morning and will be in your hands soon enough.  Are you ready to rip?!

1.20.07

Jay and Kenn will be at Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park on 1/26 and 1/27.  If you are in the area, stop by and say hello.  Or better yet, take a look at the new EWR Original Woods Bike.

1.18.08

Whoops. We missed it.  Somehow....  Well we never said we were smart. Now the people at Bike Magazine they are smart. They did an article on us on 1.16.08 and by some act of moronity (is that a word?) we missed it.  Check it out here. Or here: http://bikemag.com/features/onlineexclusive/EWR_jay_dejesus_return/

Yeah, I know we are dumb. Sorry.

1.17.08

The infamous Don (yeah, the guy who does the the psychic serial number readings) is going to be at the Ronnie Thomson Birthday Party this weekend in Macon, GA. In case you didn't hear, Ronnie Thomson passed away last weekend.  We here at EWR are deeply saddened by this.  Not one person here doesn't have at least one Thomson part on their bike.

Dirt Rag has a great write up of the party here. Don will be there, so swing by and say hello if you get the chance.

1.11.08

Frames are on the way, actually AHEAD of schedule! They are going to the finishing booth next weekend.  We highly recommend giving us a call to secure your frame.

1.08.08

EWR gets on the front page of DirtRag.com!!!

Check out Jay's interview from 1.08.08 on Dirt Rag.

1.06.08

The Protos are here!

Rumor has it we'll be riding them out at Wisahickon today.  Leaving from the Valley Green In / Teahouse around 1:00.   See you out there?

12.24.2007

Rumor has it Jay, Don and Kenn got together on Christmas Eve and found some old EWR stuff as well as some other old skool goodies.  We even found the first production Original Woods Bike frame and the first E-Motion frame!!!  There are pics on this site somewhere.......

In other news... Dirt Rag puts out a newsletter, and the one I received today had two links in there of articles Jay had written for them in the past.  The first one they listed was "Momentum is Your Friend", and they also referred to "Wheelies Made E-Z".  Check 'em out.

12.23.2007

Well wicked weather will not hold us back.  We made it out to Bikeworks and had a good time even though the rain was heavy and the temps were low.  Only a few people showed up, but we got to pine over each others rides, and talk about the new frames. It was a cool group because no two bikes were alike!  We had almost a full representation of the product line, only missing a Trials bike.  Maybe someone with a Mettle will make it to the next gathering?

Thanks to those that showed up, and thanks to Bikeworks and Mr. Ed for hosting us.

12.22.2007
